What happened to your automated system, it seemed to be doing OK, then you never really mentioned it again.

Automated system meaning Fx Engines? I use it but only for news trades.

Craig, yet another thing that is on the backburner. I think I got swayed by a lot of people who kept saying that mechanical systems don't work. I don't truly believe that and will eventually start developing again. So much to do, so little time.

The reason I ask is that I am currently having some success demo account trading and backtesting a system. I must say Soultraders logic is starting to dawn on me, I live in NZ which means the London and NY sessions are overnight. By the time I am home from work (IT, same as you) I am in no mental or emotional space to make clear trading decisions.

I went though a big "Pitchfork" phase, which seemed to work well for a while, but then I was getting into the old "Is this a trendline reject or not" paraylsis and I can't stay up all night so I also got sick of missing the big moves overnight. This propelled me to start looking at automated systems again.

Robot traders don't get pissed off or break the rules of the system. But above all, it seems the system only has to have a silght edge, it's the money management that makes the difference.

I'll keep you upto date on what happens, maybe just another blind alley.
