Forex.com free software

December 8, 2005 by Trader Rich

I use FXCM as my online broker but only because I’m comfortable with their trading system.  It is nothing spectacular and their charting options are terrible.  I received an email from forex.com and they offer the following free of charge:

eSignal’s Advanced GET - This robust charting package features over 30 studies, Fibonacci drawing tools, a page saving system and much more. Click here for more info, including a preview of Advanced GET.

ProSticks Real-Time JavaChart – Available at no charge, ProSticks is a robust, yet easy to use charting tool and comprehensive technical analysis package.

I’ve checked out CMS Forex also and their trading platform is excellent.  They provide VTTRADER which I think may be better than esignal.

If anyone has any suggestions for online brokers, feel free to post.

I did a one month trial with Gain Capital’s Forex.com, nothing to complain about - the fact that they pay for esignal and the extra $50 for the forex feed is not bad - I suppose it is based on activity per month… ask for Roger Huang, unless he is the ONLY person there!!! :-)http://www.forex.com/Tahoe.html

For those in the discovery phase, you owe it to yourself to research OANDA as well, smallest spreads in the industry during regular hours, and the official supplier to 3600 banks of exchange rates (or something like that) OANDA has an unlimited FX trial, meaning they never email you to ask if you want to sign up. This is very valuable if you want to run studies on a different platform. Sort of like a shadow demo…- BTW, forget about the charts on all these platforms, I never even open them up!http://www.oanda.com/

(This is more in relation to the charting/analysis software than to ur suggestion for online brokers)

How good is VTTRADER? does it, or can it backtest ur mechanical systems for u? I know eSignal (supposedly - i havent tried out it yet) has this feature.

And btw - anybody tried AIQ Systems before? i’m going to be running a trial of them soon. Just would like to get some of u guys’ feedback on it before i start on it.

oh hey, Brian, thanks for the recommendation!!

i just noticed though something i never saw before on fxcm’s main page (i guess i may have missed it) - (yes, it’s disclaimed with a “during normal market conditions”, but still…) a fixed 3 pip spread!!

That’s not too bad right, i supposed, as compared to oanda’s “as low as 2-3 pips” (see http://fxtrade.oanda.com/about/about_fxtrade.shtml)…
