Forex Real Time and Historical Data

October 27, 2005 by Trader Rich

I’ve got a hold of historical tick data for about 12 different currency pairs and I’m in the process of crunching through it.  I also have real-time data but I can’t do much with it until I process the historical data.  Once this is complete, I will make it available and will most likely create additional features on the site built around the real-time data.

One of the problems with tick data is the enormous amount of it.  It isn’t practical for an individual investor like myself to use it.  Currently the tick data is stored in a database but what I’m doing now is extracting 1 minute data from each currency table and storing it in another currency table.  Once this is complete, I’ll delete the tick data and just keep the 1 minute data.

I’ll keep everyone updated on the availability of the data and hopefully we can all put it to use.

Can you share the tick data (Raw without processing) or tell where it can be found?
