Euro Gains in Forex Trading

Currency trading with the euroThe euro is gaining in forex trading on the currency market this morning, after a sustained period of trouble. The latest news in the financial meltdown — that the government will help AIG — is prompting some to abandon the U.S. dollar for the time being.

However, it is uncertain how long this triumph of the euro in forex trading will last. After all, the assumption is that if AIG failed, the dollar would be in worse straits. Some analysts expect that the Fed’s move yesterday to keep interest rates steady will also serve to keep the greenback stronger overall in currency trading against the euro.
