Euro Off Daily High in Forex Trading

EUR/USD gains in currency trading

No major announcements came out of today’s earlier meeting between Angela Merkel and Nicolas Sarkozy. As a result, the euro is paring some of its gains.

While the euro is still higher than the US dollar in forex trading right now, the 17-nation currency is off its daily high today. Indeed, EUR/USD is still solidly below the 1.2800 level.

With no major announcements to provide a boost to the euro in forex trading, it’s no surprise that things are sliding a bit again. Forex traders were hoping for some sort of change that would indicate that European leaders are serious about fixing problems in the eurozone.
