Forex Has Been The Furthest Thing From My Mind

September 8, 2007 by Trader Rich

It's been quite some time before I posted anything here.  I am definitely on a hiatus from trading and have been for a couple of months.  I'll admit that forex has been the furthest thing from my mind during this time.  I do check currency prices from time to time out of curiosity but I haven't opened a trading platform.

The fact that I'm posting here makes me think that I'll be back trading soon.  I do miss trading forex but I did need the break.  I lived and breathed trading and blogging on Forex Project for about two years.  I just really do hate the fact that my blog has remained so static since July 12th.  It reminds me too much of the forex blogs out there on the internet where the blog postings one day just ceased.  I don't consider myself a failure trading forex, I just think my interests have been elsewhere.  Trading forex or any other instrument isn't something you can do halfway.

I'll be back soon.

In the meantime, I've finally added additional sites and updated the Alexa rankings of 339 forex websites on http:
//www.forexontop.com.
  Check it out.

    You should consider a trading strategy that doesn’t need your full attention. I’ve recently stopped doing any technical trading and have begun trading a Chinese Yuan carry trade strategy. You can find the details for the strategy at thefinancialwhiz.com. I plan on continuing this strategy until I learn how to program and automate technical trading systems. Maybe that’s something that would work for you as well?

    It is nice to know you are still there. I find your articles to be tranquil.

    One thing I have begun to understand during my absence in trading is that enjoying the uninvestables in life, yields a more important return.

    What have you been up to during your hiatus from Forex?

    I wish you well in any endeavour you undertake. I too am a trader who had a year off. Once you have trading in your blood though you can never leave it. From time to time priorities change and other thing become more important. This is the first time I have looked over your site and it is an excellent resource to anybody wishing to trade Forex.

    I enjoy your writing style and I like many others look forward to future posts.

    Sometimes you just need to take a break. Standing aside from the market is definitely a good idea at times.

    Thank you for coming back to your blog. I’ve been going through every month of your notes! and it’s so helpful to see all your experiences and references. I’m sure you have already helped many new traders much more than you know. Best of luck with your return to trading. Thank you.

    Good to see you’re still thinking about trading :)

    I do the same, take a break for too long then come back do a bit of trading before taking another break.

    I’m slowly finding that longer term works well and requires less time.

    Now is the time to get back in. I do agree that long term trading may be better.
