Written By: Rich
2007-05-05 16:55:20

Personally, I think Currency Trader Magazine has had better days.  Nevertheless, it's free and available for download now.  Some of the highlights?

  • How many g'days do Aussie, kiwi have left?
  • Do stocks hold the key to currency levels?
  • Aussie dollar trading characteristics
  • Professional currency traders continue to produce sub-par returns
  • So far, so good for FXMarketSpace

Currency Trader Magazine

I stumbled upon Currency Trader Magazine which is a downloadable magazine freely available if registering.   I actually found it to be quite good.  The October 2005 issue provides industry news, analysis of the sterling and swiss, an article on the post-Katrina economy, an article on how to define support and resistance levels using pivot zones rather than concrete horizonal lines, and also a detailed analysis of an actual trade.  It offers smaller tidbits like global news briefs and a global economic calendar for the month.  I haven't read through all of it but once I do, I will attempt to summarize some of the better articles from this issue.  You don't have to register because I've provide a link for you to download it directly.

March Issue of Currency Trader Magazine
Written By: Rich
2006-03-04 10:16:31

After all of our comments regarding the lack of substance regarding ichimoku chart analysis, the March issue of Currency Trader Magazine fills the gap.  There is a 6 page article, "Demystifying Ichimoku analysis."  I'm looking forward to reading it.  In addition, the new issue contains:

-Dollar Bull: Can the buck stay a step ahead of pundits?
-Japanese Yen: Marching to its own drummer
-Currency Basics: All about the interbank
-Currency System Test of the Trend Strength Indicator

Newest Issue of Currency Trader Magazine
Written By: Rich
2006-12-05 17:11:10
The newest issue of Currency Trader Magazine was released today.  Some of the highlights are:
  • EUR/JPY Trading Strategies for short-term Forex Traders.  Identify daily and intraday tendencies.
  • Are currency traders making life unnecessarily difficult for themselves?  The so called currency trading professionals have terrible returns for 2006.  How can the individual trader expect to make it then?
  • Charts are not enough.  Traders need to be more aware of the fundamental news causing price movement.
  • Slowdown in the Eurozone? What's in store for 2007.

Forex is Chaotic
Written By: Rich

The April issue of Currency Trader Magazine has been released.  I found the interview with Bill Reid most interesting.  Bill manages a currency fund based on artificial intelligence and worked with MIT on several financial topics.  "MIT mathematical studies found that treasury bonds are random, the stock market is correlated, and forex is chaotic."  Though it is chaotic, according to Bill Reid, it has the potential for some order if you can figure it out.

Some of the other highlights of this issue:

  • Optimizing FX range trading
  • The yen, the carry trade, and the BOJ
  • Dollar-Yen Trading characteristics
  • The coming commodity boom

Is Forex a Trendy Market
Written By: Rich
2007-10-03 20:39:25

I was reading an article in the latest Currency Trader Magazine and they tried to prove or disprove that the Forex market has been trendier than other markets.  I've heard for years that the currency market is a preferred market by traders because it trends more so I was interested in what conclusion they reached.  They compared three currency pairs, the EUR/USD, the GBP/USD, and the USD/JPY with the S&P 500 Index, the 10-year T-note yield, and one NYSE listed stock, Boeing.  I'm not going to summarize the article; if you're interested in it, you can download the magazine for free but their conclusion was that the Forex market IS NOT trendier than other markets.  In fact, they found the S&P 500 Index and the Boeing stock to be trendier than all three currency pairs.  This is interesting considering I always just took others word for this misconception despite never being shown evidence to prove this.  If you want to download the October issue of Currency Trader Magazine, you can do so by going to http://www.currencytradermag.com.
