Write a Guest Post For Forex Project
February 24, 2008 by Trader Rich
I’m looking for guest posts from you, the forex trader. I find that comments and emails submitted to this site are often very helpful so I think it’s a great way to share your experiences to the large audience that visits here daily.
This is what I’m looking for:
- Practical trading tips, experiences, opinions, or anything related to forex trading.
- Posts can be of any length.
- Posts shouldn’t contain a lot of self-promotion. I certainly welcome you to mention what you do and I will have a byline link.
- Posts should contain original content not found anywhere else on the web. I don’t want to be penalized by search engines for having duplicate content.
You can submit your guest post directly to rich@forexproject.com in any format you wish (text, Word, html, pdf, etc.)

Hi Rich,
You mention that search engines will penalise you for duplicate content. Do you know the source of that rumour? because it doesn’t make any sense as there are linkfarms / spam sites out there that duplicate your content without your consent and rss feed aggregators that also duplicate your content. If the search engines penalised you for duplicate content, then we would all suffer.
It’s not a rumor. http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=66359 Yes, there are linkfarms and spam sites out there and I’m sure it’s pretty overwhelming for search engines to keep track of but I’ve been penalized by google in the past and based on the amount of traffic they pass my way, there is no sense in pissing them off.
So you have tried syndicating content before and this resulted in being penalised in the ranking process?
I never was penalized for duplicate content but for display ads from text-link-ads (paid text links) Like I said I don’t want to mess around with them. They dropped my page rank from a 4 to a 0. I had to beg to get it back and finally did when I removed text-link-ads.
thanks for that. I always wondered what the net effect of these so called “SEO optimisation sites” that work by you paying someone to put up a 100 text links on a range of sites. Obviously, it isn’t good …
Never would trust them. It takes a lot of time and experience to know what is right and wrong. My problem has always been these SEO marketers never have a great page rank for their company site… how would I ever trust them….
As Rich said, Google definitely penalize for duplicate content and will only get more tough in the future. Usually if you post something first and get indexed before it’s picked up by anyone else, you won’t be penalized, but rather the offender will be.
However, I think the offer of having a guest post here is great and is quite a nice gesture considering his readership and traffic. So people should definitely take the time to prepare a quality unique post to submit.
